McGee Engineering designed the Russell Creek Bridge for a timber company to replace a wooden culvert on a mainline road. The culvert prevented fish passage to upstream habitat and was beginning to have structural failure. The 60’ span bridge was designed to accommodate heavy logging trucks and equipment. The bridge uses a driven pile foundation, cast-in-place concrete cap beams and wingwalls, and precast prestressed concrete slab superstructure. The bridge also opened about 4 miles of upstream habitat to migratory fish.
